Hello! I began teaching social studies at Kennedy High School in 2018, and I am an assistant football and wrestling coach.
Prior to teaching, I was in the US Marine Corps for five years, from 2007 to 2012. I was stationed in Okinawa, Japan for just over two years. I was fortunate enough to deploy throughout Asia during this time on various missions, including cross-training with other nations' militaries and humanitarian service missions. I have been to Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Australia. I was also lucky enough to make a trip to Iwo Jima and climbed Mount Suribachi. After my time in Okinawa, I was stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. I then was deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan for one year.
After I was discharged I moved back to Minnesota and began my collegiate career. I spent one year at North Hennepin Community College before transferring to the University of Minnesota. I graduated in 2015 after two years with a Bachelors Degree in History. I immediately enrolled at St. Mary's University of Minnesota to pursue a career in teaching. After a year and a half of coursework and a semester of student teaching at Cooper High School in New Hope, I was granted my teaching license for Social Studies in 2017. I continued to work and I received my Master's Degree in Instruction in January 2018.
I look forward to the new school year and getting to know each of my students. I am here to help you learn, grow, and become the best person you can be. Go Eagles!
