The Amigo Team is a multi-age choice program for children in 2nd, 3rd and 4th Grade. Students interact with same and different age peers on a regular basis. Students enter the program in 2nd Grade and remain on the Amigo Team through their 4th Grade year. Students work with the same three teachers during their three years on the team. Each homeroom is made up of students in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Grade. As a multi-age group the students have community building experiences, and attend recess and lunch. The students are divided by grade level groups for literacy and math instruction, and also for music, physical education, and art.
Normandale Hills will host an Early Learners Academy program starting in 2020-21. Early Learners Academy is an all-day early education program for children ages 3-5 with a focus on kindergarten prep.
Jr. Knights' is a 4th and 5th grade leadership opportunity. Students must apply and be voted in by their classmates. Over the course of the program students learn what it means to be a leader while practicing their leadership skills.
Students host several community service projects over the year such as the VEAP Food Drive and The Good in the Hood Shoe Drive. Junior Knights also works to promote a positive climate at Normandale Hills by creating community-building activities for students and staff.
Kids' SAFARI provides before and after school programs for children in kindergarten through grade 5, offering school-age childcare and enrichment opportunities such as Girls on the Run, Chess Club, and the Peace Site Club.
