Who is eligible to participate?

Any student with American Indian ancestry who fits one of the following qualifications:
  • enrolled member of a recognized tribe
  • parent is an enrolled member of a recognized tribe
  • grandparent is an enrolled member of a recognized tribe
At least one of the above criteria must apply. It is a federal requirement that a 506 form be filled out by the legal guardian and be on file at the District's Indian Education Office. All information is confidential. You do not have to fill out a 506 form. However, if you choose not to submit a form, the district cannot count your child for funding under the program.

If you do not have a printer, please call your child's school or the Indian Education office to have a 506 form sent home.

What do the services cost?

There is no cost to participate! The program receives funding from Title VII and the Success for the Future of Minnesota grant.
